Droughtless sensor commissioning guide
Droughtless Sense. Commissioning — pair a sensor to its zone.

Scan. Pick a zone. Done.

Bring: a phone (the Droughtless app installed is best, but any phone camera works) · the sensors — each lid carries a QR label · your site set up in Droughtless with its zones. Pairing and powering on can happen in either order.
One label, one sensor: the QR on each lid is that sensor's permanent identity. Pair the label of the sensor you're actually holding — don't pair from a photo of a different unit.
  1. Scan the label.

Point the phone camera at the QR on the sensor lid. With the Droughtless app installed it opens the pairing flow directly; without it, the link shows the sensor ID and directions. In the app you can also go to your site → Hardware → Pair Sensor and scan from there.

  2. Pick the zone.

Choose the site (if you manage several) and the zone the probe is installed in. Attach it to an unpaired sensor position on the map, or create a new one — you can place it precisely on the map later from the designer.

  3. Power the sensor.

Insert the batteries if you haven't already (see the Field Install Guide). Within about a minute the sensor announces itself to the site's gateway — no button, no setup mode, no typing.

  4. Watch for the radio check.

The pairing screen shows “Gateway hears this sensor” once its signal arrives, with signal strength and battery. That's your confirmation to walk away — the system finishes securely claiming the sensor on its next transmission, automatically. The sensor's LED gives one blink when it's claimed.

Good to know

Pairing ahead of the truck roll
Scan and assign every sensor at the shop. In the field the job is then just install and power — each sensor claims itself into its zone on its own.
Not heard after a few minutes?
Check battery orientation, then distance — the sensor keeps announcing itself (every minute at first), so once it's in range it appears without any reset.
Battery swaps
Never need re-pairing. The sensor keeps its identity and zone through any power loss.
Moving or retiring a sensor
Delete it from its old zone and it offers itself for pairing again on its own — same label, same scan, new home. No factory reset exists or is needed.
Smudged or unreadable label?
Every pairing screen accepts the 24-character ID typed by hand — it's printed under the QR.
Droughtless guía de emparejamiento
Droughtless Sense. Emparejamiento — vincule el sensor a su zona.

Escanee. Elija la zona. Listo.
